KINO EYE is a yearly two-day symposium uniting artists, academics and critics on a topic related to visual culture. This year's edition is about 'Spectral Illusions' and will take place at M HKA on November 11 and 12. KINO EYE #10 will feature panel and round table discussions, performances and demonstrations questioning the contemporary relevance of the phantasmagoria, hugely popular spectacles during the nineteenth century that used magic lanterns and other new technologies of the visible. Keynote speakers are Tom Gunning and W. J. T. Mitchell. With contributions and performances of CREW, Kurt d'Haeseleer Luca Scarlini, and others. For more information about the program: click here.
