On 19, 20 and 21 November, City Mine(d) will be organising a three-day Urban Platform that will try to find positive and creative solutions for big challenges we are confronted with today and are related to the environment, solidarity or democracy. Taking tables outside in the street and inviting the neighbours, making things yourself and changing derelict places in urban gardens are examples of such initiatives. During the Platform, about 30 initiatives from 13 European cities will be gathered to present their approach and inspire people to action. The programme consists of a public debate on the first day, a range of workshops on the second day and it ends with a 'Bazaar' where proposals will be turned into concrete plans.
City Mine(d) was set up in 1997 as an 'urban movement' and has recently established international collaborations with other cities all over the world. For more information: http://micpuc.citymined.org.
