Kunstendag voor Kinderen

Op zondag 18 november 2012 zal iedereen in heel Vlaanderen voor het eerst de Kunstendag voor Kinderen kunnen meemaken. Vanaf dan zal die elk jaar op de derde zondag van november plaatsvinden. Minister Joke Schauvliege lanceert dit landelijk kunstenevenement en roept alle organisaties met een kunstenaanbod op om mee te werken. Het gaat niet alleen over kunst voor kinderen, maar over kunst in al zijn aspecten.

Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui wins Dance Award

24-01-2012 Yesterday, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui won the National Dance Award 2011 for Outstanding Male Performance (Modern) for his show Dunas. The National Dance Awards are attributed by the British Critics' Circle. The event was held in The Place in London. The other nominees for Outstanding Male Performance (Modern) were Sean Palmer (for Crazy for You) and Alexander Whitley (Wayne Mcgregor / Random Dance).

Expert Meeting Community Arts

On Friday 2nd of March, the ENCC (European Network of Cultural Centres) and the Department for Arts and Culture in Rotterdam will organize an expert meeting on community arts in a broad sense. Community arts in theatre, dance, plastic art .... The development of community arts varies across Europe as well as the definition of the term. Some say community arts are merely a tool to attract new audiences. Others argue that community arts should be a way to lead citizens the way to the so called higher arts.
